“The McDonald’s restaurant was officially opened this morning. The opening ceremony featured a performance by the ÓMI Musical Theater, and after the ribbon-cutting, the locals were able to try out the products.
The McDonald’s investment project began earlier this summer in the city center’s dog walking area. Since then, a modern, fully-equipped restaurant has been completed. This morning, professionals and officials gathered at 2 Kohász Street, who were involved in the process.
‘This is essentially the first type of restaurant of its kind in the country, which has never been seen before. The exterior reflects a renewed McDonald’s, and the interior brings the concept of future experiences to Ózd. The most noticeable features are the order-taking kiosks at the entrance. This essentially provides guests with a great deal of freedom in terms of where they want to order, how they want to pay, and how they want to receive their food,’ said Zsolt Égi, CEO of Progress Restaurant Network Kft.
Afterward, all eyes were on the area in front of the entrance, where the locals who wanted to be part of the opening ceremony were let in. Following the speeches, the ÓMI Musical Theater brought a bit of Christmas cheer to the attendees.
Zsolt Égi, the CEO, and Dávid Janiczak, the mayor, addressed the guests. According to the mayor, this is a very significant investment in Ózd’s life, as those visiting the restaurant may also use other local services. At the end of the program, they jointly cut the ribbon, officially handing over the new restaurant to the locals.
‘Six months ago, this area was just grass, and construction started in the summer heat. Like mushrooms after the rain, this brand-new McDonald’s restaurant has grown out of the ground here in Ózd. This will provide stable employment for 70 people in Ózd, with fair pay at a national level. Not to mention the number of guests who visit the restaurant. Even at the opening, they came to the ceremony and to try out the latest McDonald’s experience here in Ózd. I believe this will further strengthen our role as a regional center in the future, as such an attractive restaurant is now located in the city,’ said Mayor Dávid Janiczak.
Due to the large interest, security guards assisted with the smooth entry. The locals were eager to choose from the world brand’s products.”
